  • ✽ General Booking Info ✽

New flash is available seasonally and will remain available for the duration of the season. Each Seasonal Flash design is repeatable and you may book as many sessions as you like. I can typically complete one tattoo (or two smaller, simple designs) per 3 hour session. Please only book a session with me if you are emotionally and financially committed to getting tattooed. I offer new flash at least once a season, so there will be many more opportunities to tattoo with me in the future.

I am not taking on custom projects at this time. There are so many great tattooers in Seattle and I’m happy to refer you to another tattooer who might be a better fit.

Tattoos are securely booked exclusively through my website via Acuity. You may select a design, pay your deposit, and secure a date that works for your schedule all in one place. Please send me an email if you need accommodations for this process, or notice any suspicious activity during your booking experience. I will not reach out via DM or text to schedule an appointment or take payment.

  • ✽ Pricing ✽

I price tattoos based on the complexity, size, and placement of the design as well as how long it will take to tattoo. I offer a flat rate (not hourly) with an appointment minimum of $250, including your deposit. My tattoos typically range $200 - $550, with exceptions for larger pieces. Multi-design compositions (3+) are eligible for a quantity discount.

Each appointment requires a $50 non-refundable deposit to book which goes toward the cost of your tattoo. Your deposit is collected when you reserve your selected design(s). Deposits are collected securely via Stripe — if you notice suspicious activity please notify me immediately and do not send any funds.

Tipping Policy: Tips are welcome and encouraged but not an expectation. Tips help me contribute to mutual aid, ease the impact of last minute cancellations, and make fun merch. If you feel uncertain about how much to tip, just ask! In lieu of cash tips, I also like coffee and tea, ceramics, books, plants, wine, knick-knacks and tasty morsels (no dietary restrictions).

  • ✽ Reschedules and Cancellations ✽

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please let me know as soon as you can to ensure both of our time and funds are respected. Clients can reschedule and cancel up to 72 hours before their appointment.

Reschedules and cancellations severely impact my income. Please only book an appointment if you are financially and emotionally prepared to get tattooed. While I recognize that life happens and sometimes we can’t keep our commitments, this policy aims to protect me from scrambling to find last minute appointments to meet my minimum income requirements. Upon booking an appointment and paying a deposit, you are agreeing to the following terms:

Reschedule window: Clients can reschedule once via their original booking form up to 72 hours before their appointment, for a new appointment to be scheduled no later than 3 months after the initial appointment date. Rescheduled appointments after 3 months will require a new deposit. If no appointments are available on my website, clients can reach out directly and we will find a date to reschedule. The deposit remains non-refundable at any point after booking an appointment.

After the reschedule window closes, the initial appointment will be considered a cancellation. Clients who wish to reschedule within 72 hours of their appointment must reach out directly and will be required to fill out a new booking form with a new deposit, and will be charged an cancellation fee which does not go towards the cost of the tattoo ($150).

Cancellation window: Clients can cancel via their original booking form up to 72 hours before their appointment. The deposit remains non-refundable at any point after booking an appointment.

After the cancellation window closes, cancellations within 72-48 hours of the appointment will result in a non-refundable cancellation fee ($150) and require an additional deposit ($50). Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment will result in a non-refundable appointment minimum charge ($300). Do not no-call-no-show – please respect my time and investment in preparing for your appointment by letting me know if you are unable to make it. No-shows will be charged the full amount of the requested tattoo, and you will not be able to book in the future. The deposit remains non-refundable; I will absorb your deposit as a cancellation fee.

Lateness policy: Please keep me informed via text or email if you’ll be late to your appointment. If you’re more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, an additional $50 deposit will be applied to the cost of your tattoo. The original deposit will be absorbed as a late fee. If you’re more than 30 minutes late to your appointment, I will consider it a no-show and you will be charged the full amount of the requested tattoo.

Thank you for respecting both of our time and income.

  • ✽ Time + Session Experience ✽

Single sessions are usually limited to four hours of tattooing. If I am able to work on your tattoo longer than four hours, we will discuss and agree to this ahead of time.

If a tattoo cannot be completed within four hours, it will likely require another session. This is a boundary meant to maintain both of our well-being and the quality of my work. If it is important to you to complete a piece in one sitting (travel, etc) please let me know in advance as this may require modifying your design to fit in one session, or adjusting the session to accommodate appropriate breaks. Appointments for continuing work are prioritized and may be booked in person at the end of your first session.

Many factors (including but not limited to stencil placement, individual sensitivity, design complexity, and body positioning) contribute to how long a session takes. Please expect and plan your day to spend 4 hours in the studio. We will discuss the length of the session at the start and I’ll update you on time throughout the tattoo.

I will initiate breaks throughout the process, but please help me prioritize your comfort by speaking up at any point if you need to take a break, are feeling light-headed, uncomfortable beyond the expected tattoo sensation, or want end the session early for any reason. You may always decide that you’ve had enough tattooing for one day and we can complete the tattoo at a later date.

As a client, you always have the right to:

    A safe and clean procedure.
A private area to change your clothing.
    Breaks when you need them.
    A clean bathroom.
Ask questions and have them answered.
Not be touched in anyway that you do not approve.
Modesty at your discretion (only the area around your tattoo needs to be exposed, and only to your artist.)
Refuse photography, or public sharing of your photo.
Have your chosen name and pronouns respected.
Freedom from harassment, discrimination, erasure, and intolerance.

  • ✽ Communication ✽

Email is the best way to communicate with me. Do not DM me, I will not see your message. If you need to reach out the day of your appointment, you can find my phone number in the Appointment Reminder email. Please introduce yourself with your name so I know who is texting me. This is my personal number, so please only text if it’s urgent for your appointment. If you text me to schedule a new tattoo or a touch up, I will redirect you to reach out via email and ask that you attach images of your healed/healing tattoos. For healed pics, check-ins or any other inquiries, please send me an email: bird.world.tattoo@gmail.com.

I do not respond to emails on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday unless it is about an appointment occurring later that week. Please allow 24 hours for appointment-related communication, and up to a week for non-urgent communication. If you don’t hear from me within a week, please follow up!

  • ✽ Stylistic and Energetic Boundaries ✽

My flash is designed to be tattooed as-is. Most of my tattoos are designed to be 2-6” and I reserve the right to stick within my recommended size range. I am usually open to very small modifications that help the design work with your anatomy. I may offer my professional opinion and suggest the design could work better reflected or in a specific orientation; however, the final placement is entirely up to you.

I am generally not open to customizing a design (for example: changing the kind of flower) but I will consider it with enough notice and an additional drawing fee. If you have a customization you’d like to discuss, please email me at least two weeks before your appointment.

No-no Placements: I do not tattoo inner wrists (sorry!), fingers/palms, faces, ears, side / front of neck, ribs, breasts, booty, inner thighs, lower abdomen, lower back, knee caps, elbows/ditch or feet. If you are interested in getting tattooed in a sensitive/intimate area like the sternum, we can discuss your comfortability and privacy options before your appointment.

While I love getting to know my clients, I prefer a quieter session in order to focus fully on your tattoo and produce the best quality work. I may gently disengage from conversation if I need to concentrate, and I may even wear noise-minimizing earplugs for sensory overwhelm. Please bring appropriate entertainment and be considerate of other tattooers and clients in the studio.

Having some nerves and uncertainty is totally normal – this is what we will consult about at the start of our session. However, if I sense that we are not on the same page, or you seem extremely nervous, indecisive, or ungrounded during our consultation, I may suggest rescheduling or canceling the appointment altogether. If I feel we are not a good collaborative match, I reserve the right to cancel the appointment at any time.

  • ✽ How to Prepare for Your Tattoo ✽

Please make sure your appointment is on your calendar or other notification system. I will send an appointment reminder email four days prior to your appointment. This email will include payment, location, and general etiquette information.

To best prepare for your appointment, get a good night’s sleep and do not show up hungover or under the influence of substances; I will turn you away and charge you the full appointment cost.

If you wish to bring a companion, please confirm this with me before your appointment as we may not be able to accomodate an additional person in our small studio. Please be respectful and remember this is a shared studio and there may be other tattooers and clients occupying our space. Wear or bring comfortable clothing appropriate for the placement of your tattoo (for example: bring shorts for a leg tattoo). Make sure you’ve eaten 2 hours or less before your appointment, and bring snacks and water! Personally I like to bring sliced apples, peanut m&ms, string cheese or granola to munch on during breaks. Remember that while a tattoo is generally a passive experience, your body knows it’s experiencing a big change, and you’ll likely feel depleted during and afterward.

If you know you are sensitive to pain or overstimulation (hi, me too) feel free to bring headphones, a book or game, or even an ice pack to help soothe your nerves. If you would prefer to have a quiet session (no chit chat beyond the necessary consent and tattoo-related communications), just let me know! You can include that in your arrival text.

Additionally, please hydrate and moisturize the area you want to get tattooed in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin makes for pretty tattoos. Limit sun exposure to the desired tattoo area - I will not tattoo you if you have a sunburn, and even heavily suntanned skin can be difficult to tattoo due to texture.

I am happy to discuss the use of topical numbing cream and share recommendations with you. Please send me an email prior to your appointment if you intend to use numbing cream – it shouldn’t be a problem, I just like to know ahead of time.

  • ✽ Post-session & Aftercare ✽

When your new tattoo is completed, we’ll get pics of the fresh tattoo (with your consent) and go over aftercare in person. You can find more aftercare info here. Please reach out with additional questions or concerns; I am here to support you before, during, and after your tattoo.

I prefer to bandage the fresh tattoo in Derm Shield, an adhesive bandage developed specifically for tattoos, in order to let the tattoo settle without interference (bacteria, friction, water, etc). However, some people find that the adhesive irritates their skin - if this is you, I’ll offer alternative bandage solutions. Please remember I am here to provide professional advice but ultimately how you heal your tattoo is up to you. Always listen to your body!

I will follow up via email in eight weeks to check in and see how your tattoo is doing. This is a great time to send a healed pic in natural light with a clear view and neutral background. You may also reach out about a touch up if desired. Touch ups are free and can be scheduled at any time - send me an email to get an appointment set up.

Thank you so much for your trust and care - it is a great honor to share my art with you!
